Filet Mignon from @omahasteaks in a sherry mushroom sauce is my new recipe on my website www.grillmomma.com. {ad} Using 10oz Private Reserve filet mignon, I created this dish that is reminiscent of a tenderloin tip meal I get at a local restaurant but this is so much better! A 10oz filet mignon is absolutely massive and combined with this sherry based sauce, I’m just in heaven. Grab me a baked potato for a side and there isn’t much more I need in life. Red velvet Kit Kat cookies from @stackedcookieshtx! Don’t judge me, it’s been that kind of week. I can’t believe how well these cookies hold up traveling all the way from Texas to New York. There are different flavors released each week and every one of them is outstanding.

I was able to make some shrimp scampi and get squash from my garden on my @aspirebyhestan grill before the thunderstorms hit. You know what it’s like, you see the clouds, you look at the radar and then yell no no no no as you scramble to take the food off the grill as the first drops of rain start pounding on your head. Or is that just me? But I digress! I added some butter and garlic to the @hestanculinary NanoBond sautéuse pan, seared the shrimp on once side, added a splash of white wine, lemon, parsley, pepper and cooked another minute or two until cooked through. I finished with little fresh Parmesan when served. Classic and delish!

Chicken spiedies, veggies and pineapple are are getting grilled up on the @aspirebyhestan this evening! Have you ever heard of spiedies? Spiedies, (pronounced "speedies"), are marinated cubes of meat cooked on a skewer. Originally from Italy, this delicacy seems to be found only in the Broome County area of New York State. How and when spiedies came to this area, having never been documented, remains a mystery.

Traditionally, spiedies were made from lamb. Today, however, they are made from lamb, pork, chicken, veal, venison, and beef. The cubes of meat are marinated in a sauce as varied as the types of people that enjoy them.

Yes, where I live, we even have a whole balloon festival dedicated to eating spiedies. We have two local companies which bottle a spiedie sauce Lupo’s & Salamida’s. Locals will argue about which is better much like people argue about the existence of beans in chili. Regardless of your opinion on the later, I’m hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t like spiedies!

King crab, red, white & blue @melissasproduce pota

King crab, red, white & blue @melissasproduce potato medley made into festive crispy skillet potatoes and some brussel sprouts for extra veggies! For the potatoes I tossed the thinly sliced potatoes in some olive oil then layered in the cast iron skillets. I seasoned them with some sea salt, pepper, and fresh thyme then baked in a 450° oven until nice and crispy. I’m not going to lie, I ate the potatoes before I even touched the crab because they are that addictive! Save this post for reference for a quick and delicious potato recipe great for any time of the year. After this lunch I’m definitely having some burgers and hot dogs for dinner!
