Basic Method to Reverse Sear a Ribeye

Instructions

  • Defrost steak if necessary.
  • Season the steak as desired
  • Heat oven or grill to 250ºF
  • Cook indirect until 10-15 degrees shy of your target finished temperature. If cooking in the oven, elevate the steak on a rack to cook.
  • Sear the steak on high direct heat for max 60-90 seconds per side. A rest is not needed when reverse searing a steak but there is no harm in doing so.
  • Serve
